Getting Involved

In 2009, Beloit College made the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement.

If Beloiters, as a whole, like to do one thing it’s this: get involved. The college sits in the middle of a rich and active community, and students regularly rack up volunteer hours organizing fundraisers or voting drives, reading to local elementary school children, working with the Rock County Humane Society, or delving in to help—or start—a community gardening project.

For those who would like to be pointed in the right direction, the Campus and Community Outreach Center is a great source for getting involved in mentoring, tutoring, and other community outreach programs.
