We welcome visits from school groups and community organizations interested in showcasing Beloit - or just a liberal arts environment - to college-bound students (high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors ONLY). Groups can tour the campus, hear about academic and extracurricular programs, learn about the value of a liberal arts education, and discover what sets Beloit apart.
To request a group visit, please apply by completing a Group Visit Request Form at least a month before you plan to come. You can also call the Admissions Office at 1-800-9-BELOIT or 1-608-363-2500.
Group visits are for up to 40 people and last approximately 2-3 hours. Groups must provide one adult chaperone for every ten students.
Group visits are approved by a member of the admissions office. All tours will be led and organized by a student volunteer, therefore, application approval will often hinge on the availability of tour guides, among other things. Some dates are unavailable due to campus breaks, pre-existing engagements, and holidays. We cannot host groups in April, and only rarely in October, due to the high volume of campus visits during those months.
Specifically, we cannot accommodate group visits during the dates below:
- Monday, October 10, 2016 through Friday, October 14, 2016
- Friday, March 3, 2017 through Monday, May 15, 2017
When we confirm your visit, we’ll provide information about directions and parking. Please allow ample time to get here. If your group is delayed, we may not be able to reschedule missed activities. Likewise, if your schedule or group size changes, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellation of the visit must occur at least 24 hours in advance.
During The Visit
Take a tour: The Office of Admissions will arrange a campus tour led by a current Beloit student. Students will see our facilities, hear an overview of academic programs and campus life, and have a chance to ask the guide what Beloit means to him/her. Campus tours last about an hour.
Each group must be accompanied by a chaperone while on the tour. The use of electronic devices such as cell phones, mp3 players or iPods is strictly prohibited during the tour. Please ensure that your participants are dressed for seasonal weather, with comfortable footwear for walking.
Go to an information session: One of our admissions counselors will host an information session tailored to your group. We can tell you about Beloit’s unique curriculum, the admissions process, or how to finance a Beloit education.
At least one chaperone/sponsor must be present during the information session. The use of phones and other devices is strongly discouraged during the information session.
Eat lunch: Your students can have lunch in Commons Dining Room. Lunch is available at a reduced cost of $7.45 per person. If you plan to eat in Commons, please let us know well in advance. Payment for lunch via credit card is due the day of your visit. Documentation of tax-exempt status is required to receive this special rate.
If you want to eat off campus, we can direct you to local restaurants. We can also arrange an on-campus place for you to eat your own boxed lunches.
