Study Abroad Programs
Fall, Spring (southern hemisphere calendar) Language: English. Prereqs: 2.5 GPA, 3.0 for internship; previous coursework in field to qualify for advanced courses. Housing: On campus residence halls/off-campus apartments, students provide own meals. Details: Study with local students; the department of information & communication sciences offers courses in computing, electronics, mathematics and physics; orientation and a guide to Sydney on line; internships possible, volunteer opportunities available.
Fall Language: Spanish. Prereqs: 2 yrs college Spanish, check requisites for upper level computer science courses Housing: Host family. Details: Located in the mining and resort town; courses in computer science and informatics, taught in Spanish; Spanish Language Program is available for improving skills in the local language.
France – Nearly all ISEP partners, except Lille and Rennes 2, have computer science courses taught in French.
Fall (semester starts end of July), Spring Language: English. Prereqs: 3.0 GPA; junior or senior standing; previous coursework relative to the understanding of India. Housing: Dormitory. Details: One of India’s newest, smallest (2000 students) and best-equipped university campuses; study with Indian and international students; courses in computer science complement an immersion in the capital of India’s high tech revolution; orientation, access to campus sports and cultural programs. Introductory courses in Indian languages available.
Fall, Spring Language: Spanish and English. Prereqs: 2 years college Spanish, see catalogue for prereqs in computer science courses. Housing: Host family. Details: Considered the best university system in Mexico, ITESM’s program in computer science is popular among ISEP students; intensive four-level Spanish language program offered during six weeks in June-July; semester Spanish programs also available at the intermediate and advanced levels.
Fall, Spring Language: English. Prereqs: Some competency in French or Arabic required, additional language study strongly encouraged; previous coursework related to the understanding of Morocco and the region. Housing: Single sex dormitory. Details: Small private university located in the Atlas Mountains; study with local and international students; many courses with Arab-Islamic culture content; wide range of courses in business, international and social studies, computer science in the School of Science and Engineering; Arabic and French courses available; well equipped library and classrooms; French or Arabic needed off campus; town is a weekend-ski destination in winter.
Fall (July-Nov), Spring Language: English. Prereqs: Junior or Senior standing; see individual courses for terms of admission. Housing: Dormitory. Details: Extensive course listings in computer science, along with a diverse curriculum; opportunities for outdoor activity around the campus. Language courses in Maori available.
Fall, Spring Language: English Prereqs: 3.0 GPA, previous study in your field, coursework relative to the understanding of Scotland. Housing: University assists students find housing in halls of residence or student flats, students provide own meals. Details: University has switched to a semester system; study with local and international students, wide variety of first and second year courses available, third year courses possible in major with background; classes for study abroad students in: arts, biomedical and life sciences, information and mathematical sciences, business and social sciences, physical sciences; lectures and tutorials, some art classes available in the Glasgow School of Art.
Fall, Spring Language: English. Prereqs: 3.0 GPA cumulative or in major, junior or senior, some prerequisites for courses. Housing: Residence apartments with kitchens on the Goldsmiths campus. Students provide their own meals. Details: Focus on the advancement of computing in many different technological areas including artificial intelligence, biology and genetics, cognitive science, computer games and entertainment, computer music, computer vision, design, digital arts, archaeology and architecture, and haptics, as well as in computer science itself.
Spring, Academic year Language: English. Prereqs: Previous coursework relative to the understanding of Northern Ireland. Housing: Apartments, residence halls or student houses, meal stipend. Details: Courses in peace studies, policy studies, life sciences, computer science and informatics, engineering, mathematics, Irish studies, economics, law and applied social studies with local students.

Fall Prereqs: 3.0 cumulative GPA and in the major; senior standing preferred, juniors considered; major in biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, physics or social sciences. Housing: Shared single bedroom apartment. Details: Program focus on national and global energy and environmental issues; students earn academic credit for research in ongoing investigations guided by a mentor; interdisciplinary seminar course, advanced course options; guest speakers, departmental colloquia.
