After my experience abroad I now see myself less as just an American and more as a global citizen. I have friends on the other side of the world. This summer even one of my British friends will be visiting me in the US. I’ve found my definition of society to be immensely expanded after my experiences abroad.

Fall, spring Language: English.  Prereqs: 3.0 GPA, previous coursework with African content recommended.  Housing: Dormitory.  Details:  Institute of African Studies, anthropology, sociology (including culture and development, traditional Ghanaian social institutions, and social structures of Ghana). Options for health and society students.  Resident director.  Sports and volunteering available. Twi language course highly recommended. India – Minnesota Studies in International Development, Bangalore (P) 

Fall, spring  Language: English.  Prereqs: 2.5 GPA. Experience in India, coursework focused on India and/or development, and/or volunteer/internship experience preferred. Housing: Host family.
