The college will test its emergency alert system on Wednesday (Sept. 2) at 12:30 p.m. As a part of the test, all faculty, staff, and students should receive an email, phone call, and text message at or around the common hour.

Nontraditional Calendar Programs

It is important to know that although some study abroad destinations have academic calendars that mimic our own, there are also many programs that do not. There are programs that have various start (and end) dates, either before or after the traditional U.S. starting time.

A majority of these programs are located in the Southern hemisphere, where the seasons are inverse. Our autumn semester generally overlaps with their second (or spring) semester, and our spring semester with their first (or autumn) semester.

These programs can be beneficial to anyone who wants a different time schedule and especially so for winter sport athletes trying to study off-campus.

A list of programs with differing academic calendars can be found here.
