The Office of International Education (OIE) is located at 717 Chapin Street, in the former home of Ellen F. Chapin.
Office hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 – 4:30pm
Elizabeth Brewer, Director - ext. 2280, email@example.com
My job is to help ensure that there is an international dimension to all Beloit College students’ educations. To that end, I oversee our exchange partnerships, work with faculty to internationalize their teaching, help ensure that international students receive the supports they need, and advise students about study abroad opportunities. When working with students, my aim is to empower them to stretch themselves and take ownership of their learning. When not in the office, I love to wander, whether through cities or the countryside, and to make things and do things.
Christina Eddington, Instructor of English as a Second Language - ext. 2275, firstname.lastname@example.org
I am an English as a Second Language instructor who has taught in a variety of academic and community settings both in the United States and in South Africa. I enjoy helping students strengthen their English language skills and learn about the local culture. I am also a language teacher trainer. When not in the classroom, I love to travel the world by bicycle.
Shannon Jolly, Assistant Director and International Student Advisor - ext. 2659, email@example.com
I advise international students and visiting scholars on matters related to maintaining F-1 or J-1 status, cultural adjustment and making the most of their time at Beloit College. I also help programs about and for international students and I advise the International Club. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano and the trumpet, reading and traveling.
Kathy Landon, Program Coordinator - ext. 2270, firstname.lastname@example.org
One of my primary roles is to help Beloit College students explore their options for Study Abroad and/or Domestic Off-Campus study. I also help to facilitate the application process for students studying at one of our exchange partners, and offer advice with all other application inquiries. I am happy to help field student Visa questions, billing questions and Study Abroad Insurance questions. Outside of the office I enjoy time with my family, traveling and coaching age-group swimming.
Josh Moore, Associate Director - ext. 2831, email@example.com
I work with Beloit College students to help you identify and prepare for off-campus study opportunities. I also am here if you run into an emergency while abroad and will help you make sense of your experience and sort out your transcript when you return. I coordinate grant programs and annual lectures that help bring the world to Beloit College and that help students carry out projects over the summer. Outside of work, I enjoy carpentry, music and cycling.
Samantha Schonberger, International Education Intern (ext. 2269, firstname.lastname@example.org)
I endeavor to help students study abroad by leading informational sessions, managing the OIE resource room, scheduling advising appointments, and answering questions. Additionally, I seek to welcome and support international students. I graduated from Beloit College in 2016 as a double major in Environmental Geology and International Political Economy. While studying abroad at Vesalius College in Brussels, Belgium, I gained greater confidence and appreciation for the importance of engaging with individuals from other backgrounds. I grew up in Denver, Colorado where I became an avid fan of spending time outdoors. I also enjoy attempting water sports, exploring bookstores, and spending hours in art museums.
