Planning for Rain During Commencement

May 17, 2019

Several weather forecasts are calling for rain on Sunday which could impact our Commencement ceremony plans. We’ll make every effort possible to hold the ceremony outside so attendees can enjoy our beautiful campus, but heavy rain, thunder or lightning might force us to delay the start or move things indoors to the Sports Center. If that’s the case, we’ll make the call as early as possible and no later than 8 a.m. on Sunday. Watch the Beloit College website, social media, email and text alerts for any changes to the schedule or location.

Wisconsin weather can be pretty unpredictable so it’s probably a good idea to bring an umbrella or poncho in case of light drizzle. We’ll have hospitality stations set up in Pearsons Hall and in Eaton Chapel with snacks and drinks to keep you warm, dry, full, caffeinated and hydrated before the start of the ceremony, rain or shine.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, May 19 at 10:30 a.m. for the 173rd Beloit College Commencement.
