Did you know International Education Week originated from Beloit alumnus David Levin’73?
David, senior program manager and diversity coordinator for the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in the U.S. Department of State, thought the week would support President Clinton’s April 2000 memorandum for international education policy. Clinton officially proclaimed International Education Week on November 13, 2000.
Here at Beloit, there will be several activities to partake in, beginning this Saturday. Below are some highlights of the week.
- International Night
- The annual Stone Lecture, this year focusing on U.S.-Turkey relations
- International Symposium
- International Poetry Reading
- An international Friday Night Flick
- Our first Night Market (and Really, Really Free Market)
