More than 400 Beloiters and friends came back to campus for Reunion Weekend 2017.
Among the many great events were alumni college, campus tours, the parade of classes, alumni assembly, Golden Hoods induction ceremony, and class events.
“It was the best of the Reunions I have experienced in my eight years,” said President Scott Bierman.
Congratulations to this year’s Distinguished Service Citation recipients: John Pasquin’67, Maggie Nygren’87, Jamey Brumfield’92, and Anne Mahle’92, and Young Alumni Award recipient Zainab al-Khawaja’07, whose award was presented in absentia by Manger Professor of Political Science Beth Dougherty. The life paths and stories of these alumni are truly inspirational and embody every part of Beloit College’s mission to help create lives of purposeful consequence. Their citations are online and available to read here.
Reunion Weekend 2017 also marked the official kickoff of the Powerhouse project, as alumni, staff, city and state officials, and partners, gathered to commend the cooperation that made this transformational project a reality. The event featured Alliant Energy Chairman, President, and CEO Patricia Kampling, Studio Gang Architects Principal Jeanne Gang, and President Scott Bierman, who recognized and thanked exceptional partners who were founding visionaries. Because of their vision and support, along with the extraordinary generosity of nearly 1,000 donors, what was initially a fantastic idea is now going to be a first-of-its-kind, uniquely integrated, gathering space for Beloit College.
The Development and Alumni Relations Office would like to thank everyone who helped make Reunion 2017 a tremendous success.
