This conversation will question what it means to be a territory of a superpower, while being treated as a third world country. This #GetWoke would centralize modern colonialism in the Caribbean, specifically looking at U.S. territories. We aim to bring American colonization of Puerto Rico to the forefront, and unpack the vicious cycle of abuse the islanders have faced from the US. While examining post-Hurricane Maria Puerto Rico, we want to also bring to light the hard work of resistance the islanders have continued to share and fight for.
