6 PM - Dinner, Health Fair, and HIV Testing
7:30 PM - Keynote Address with Cass Downing
Cass Downing was diagnosed with HIV at the age of 23 while struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. Seventeen years later, Cass is sober and she works as a Certified Nursing Assistant, working with the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin and Yellow Brick Road, both of whom are here today. She has won many titles including Miss Gay Madison. Being HIV positive, a former drug addict, and a trans woman, Cass has experienced stigma and discrimination from all angles and is eager to speak about these intersections for World AIDS Day 2017.
