How can we think about the place of love and compassion within organizing and activism that falls outside of whiteness? That is the leading question panelists will tackle for this panel as we think about the power of radical love - for oneself and others - when you sit at the margins of society. We bring together Lama Rod Owens (a queer black Buddhist who writes about radical dharma) and Dr. Sonya Johnson (an anthropologist who studies religion in the African Diaspora from a radical black intellectual tradition) and Rev. Michael Raimsdail ('10) to discuss the idea of radical love outside of the Western framework as a way to truly get at liberation.
