Board of Trustees approves three new members

The Beloit College Board of Trustees approved three new members at its spring meeting in late April. The trustees, who will each serve a three-year term expiring in 2017, are Michael D. Doyle, Greg L. Hopper’80 and Donald P. Kent’78.

Doyle, a former member of Beloit’s Parents Fund Committee, is the chairman/founder of Eolas Technologies, Inc. and CEO of Iomas Research, LLC. Eolas’ mission is to pursue a disciplined program of research and development in targeted areas in the field of bioinformatics through its wholly owned subsidiary, Iomas Research LLC. He graduated from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in medical art (now biomedical visualization) and earned a Ph.D. in 1991 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in cell and structural biology.

Hopper is a senior portfolio manager and head of global high yield at Aberdeen Asset Management in New York, which is the wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of Aberdeen Asset Management PLC, a global investment management group managing more than $312 billion of assets for both institutions and private individuals. He graduated from Beloit in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in economics and earned his MBA in 1985 at Columbia University.

Kent is the principal of the New York City-based Bernstein Global Wealth Management, which offers a full range of investment services designed to help affluent families preserve and enhance their wealth. He graduated from Beloit in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in international relations and a teacher’s certificate.  He went on to earn a master’s degree from Columbia University in 1984.
