Series of close games start off inaugural lacrosse season

Sunday, March 10, 2013

After more than a year of excitement and anticipation, the first-ever season of lacrosse at Beloit kicked off a few weeks ago. Though they have yet to score their first victories, both the men’s and women’s teams have played some very close games.

The men’s team, for instance, was narrowly defeated by Fontbonne University 10-8, Transylvania University 10-9, and Oglethorpe University 9-8.

The women’s team lost their first game 16-6 against Alma College earlier this month, but the Bucs showed determination and drive throughout the game even scoring four goals in the final seven minutes.

Next up the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams play on Wednesday against Benedictine University and Loras College, respectively. The men’s team will play at 7 p.m. in Lisle, Ill., and the women’s team will play at 6 p.m. at home.
