Tuesday, August 9, 2011

President Scott Bierman has announced that Charles Westerberg will be the first Director of the Liberal Arts in Practice Center at Beloit College. The current associate dean and associate professor of sociology was recommended for the role by Provost Ann Davies.

In his new role, Westerberg will focus on building synergies between academic advising and LAPC programs including community-based learning, CELEB, Career Services and Campus and Community Outreach, as well as the TRiO programs and Help Yourself. In doing so, Westerberg will be fostering tighter connections among academic affairs, student affairs, external affairs and admissions.

“No one could be better suited to strengthening these bridges than Charles,” Bierman said. “We are extremely fortunate to have someone of Dean Westerberg’s remarkable talents.”
