Mexican American artist Tanya Aguiñiga was born in San Diego, California, and raised in Tijuana, Mexico. An artist, designer, and craftsperson, Aguiñiga draws on her upbringing as a binational citizen to tell the larger and often invisible stories of the transnational community.

After the pandemic prevented their in-person graduation, the class of 2020 finally had the chance to walk across the Middle College stage this weekend, surrounded by family and friends. They received one-of-a-kind baseball caps, champagne flutes, and a fun-filled weekend to make up for lost time with their classmates and campus mentors.
