House 3

House 3 was built directly over the circular House 3A. It was a rectangular structure with rounded corners. The pit was between 12" and 17" deep. There were two centrally-located primary supports and a series of secondary supports irregularly placed around the periphery. The entrance faced east, and was short and inclined. A shallow, circular, adobe-lined  firepit, was located in the center of the room. Two stones were placed upright in the hearth and may have served as deflectors. The walls were unplastered, and only the floor was covered with adobe.

This house type is consistent with the San Francisco Phase of Mogollon culture, dating from AD 650 to 750.
