Alen Keric ’14 graduated from Beloit in Performance and Media Studies, and earned an MA in Human Rights and Democracy from the University of Sarajevo and University of Bologna. Now, Keric works for Save The Children as a Child Safety Officer, as a part of Save The Children’s response to the migration inflows into Bosnia and Herzegovina. He uses his performance degree to move the bodies of migrant and refugee children in spaces that his colleagues and he have established as safe spaces - spaces where children can securely play and let go of the daily worries that surround them. This was the first time when I felt that I could actually use both my performance and human rights knowledge to contribute creatively to a cause of high social, political and humanitarian Importance.
Keric simply calls out, “Thank you Beloit! I will never forget the lessons you taught me.”
