Simone Stadler ’13 graduated with a double major in Theater Performance and Health & Society. After a one-year stint working on first a farm and then glacial ski bar in Switzerland, Stadler moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting. She has since performed in over 20 plays both in New York and regionally, as well as various independent films. Favorite roles have included Macbeth with the Adirondack Shakespeare Company and Gertrude in Hamlet with the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. In 2017 Stadler produced and acted in the feature film When We Grow Up, starring Catherine Curtin of Orange is the New Black, Stranger Things 2, and Homeland, which has since appeared in 8 film festivals across the country including Napa Valley Film Festival and Woods Hole Film Festival. Stadler’s upcoming projects include Hay Fever with the Bagaduce Theater Company, and a role-swapping turn as both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth with the Adirondack Shakespeare Company.
Stadler insists, “While at Beloit, I found the highly professional caliber of the departmental theater productions to be an incredible training ground for working in the theater industry, both in artistic craft and professional rigor. Additionally, Beloit’s focus on putting the liberal arts into practice gave me the tools to hustle, maneuver, and creatively adapt in a competitive, ever-changing industry.”
