September 30 - October 6 The power of your voteHello Beloiters. The office of Student Success, Equity & Community, the Weissberg Program, and the Why Bother Campaign have brought 2023 Ousley Scholar Ashlyn Sparrow back to campus for two events taking place this afternoon. The first event, Arcade Power to the People: A Voting Awareness Arcade, is an interactive experience designed to educate and engage us in the democratic process through fun, non-partisan games. Stop by the Powerhouse’s Riverside Lounge between noon and 4 p.m. Immediately following, at 4:30 p.m., is a panel titled “Does My Vote Matter.” The panel will explore voting’s collective power and highlight how local and state elections often have a far greater impact on our daily lives than national elections.
Election day this year is Tuesday, November 5. The college will not be holding classes on that day to allow students plenty of opportunities to vote in between presentations at the Beloit & Beyond Conference, one of Beloit’s annual symposiums.
