Ousley Residency Keynote this week

Ousley Scholar-in-Residence Ashlyn Sparrow is a game-designer and educator who teaches undergraduate, graduate, and K-12 students how to design their own games while uncovering the sociopolitical implications of their designs. Her keynote address this Friday, Sept.15, is titled “Game Mechanics, Real Dynamics: Designing for Equity and Social Justice.”

In a recent interview with the college, Sparrow shares some insights on her interests, career, and impact. When asked about working with Beloit students, she explains that, “every time I interact with students, I always learn something new, whether it’s their interests and passions or what they hope for in the world. I don’t ever know what to expect, but I know it’s going to be excellent.”
