Employer Relations Assistant
Career Works is seeking an Employer Relations Assistant for the 2023-2024 school year. The Employer Relations Assistant will work with the Career Works professional staff to coordinate, market, and assess campus and virtual employer programming, research and document interactions with employer partners, and promote professional opportunities via Handshake and social media. The Employer Relations Assistant may also collaborate on projects with Impact Beloit and the Director of Community-Based Learning. The Employer Relations Assistant will strengthen their abilities in the following areas: - Effective Communication: The Employer Relations Assistant will communicate verbally and in writing with the Alumni & Employer Relations Advisor and with faculty, students, staff, alumni and employer partners to assist in facilitating student access to employers. - Creative Problem Solving: The Employer Relations Assistant will plan pre-event logistics and work towards the success at the event, likely solving on-site issues. The Employer Relations Assistant will also use their knowledge of the Career Channels, academic majors, and student needs to identify prospective employers via Handshake and LinkedIn. - Productive Collaboration: The Employer Relations Assistant will coordinate with the larger Career Works staff, including both professional and paraprofessional colleagues, to provide support of the wider goals of Career Works. - Intellectual & Professional Agility: Through this position, the Employer Relations Assistant will learn how to professionally communicate with a variety of audiences, take initiative on projects, and be given support to work independently, and enhance their research skills.
