Description
The Project Coordinator is an ongoing 12-month position that provides support services for the professional and student staff members in the Global Experience Office (GEO) and Career Works. GEO is responsible for study away (international and domestic programs), summer programs, pre-college and continuing education, as well as the Weissberg Program in Human Rights and Social Justice. Career Works serves as Beloit College’s career center and provides student advising for internships, employment, graduate school, and experiential learning. This role interacts with students who are engaged in their academic, professional, and personal development. The Project Coordinator also connects professional staff with other college departments, including academic departments and programs, Career Channels, Advancement, Alumni Relations, Admissions, and Student Affairs.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to an inclusive and equitable environment for all students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.
- Provide project support to six professional staff members. This may include developing external communications, coordinating meetings with partner departments, and supporting project assessment.
- Manage the logistics for events, including large annual events as well as regular workshops and student events throughout the calendar year.
- Monitor databases and work with students to complete applications and preparation activities for study abroad, summer programs, and summer funding. Follow up with students to fulfill deadlines and complete paperwork for study abroad, summer funding, and summer programs.
- Foster a thriving summer activity program, and assist summer course faculty.
- Support the maintenance of websites and social media accounts related to programming.
- Perform office management duties including answering phones, scheduling appointments, managing three office email accounts, and maintaining office supplementary materials, equipment, and facilities.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Credentials and Experience:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous office management experience and/or project management experience required. Experience in higher education is preferred.
