Project Coordinator

The Project Coordinator is a critical role in launching Impact Beloit, the college’s most strategic initiative that will combine career-readiness and community outreach and development. The mission of Impact Beloit is “To develop the next generation of leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, thinkers, and activists through community-based learning that both develops students’ career-readiness and contributes to the well-being of our local communities, especially the city of Beloit.” The Project Coordinator will work directly with the Executive Director, Tim Leslie, to help develop and coordinate the launch Impact Beloit and the Hub, its physical location in the new library. The skills that you will develop as part of this role are:

 

  • Effective Communication: The Project Coordinator will work directly with the Executive Director, Tim Leslie, and the Program and Marketing Coordinator of Impact Beloit, as well as with faculty, students, alumni, and community partners, in order to coordinate the management of Impact Beloit’s various projects. This work will be done through the management and organization of the Impact Beloit Project tracker, through scheduling, attending, and taking notes during meetings, and by completing related tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Creative Problem Solving: Often, it is the Project Coordinator’s duty to draft the preliminary versions of planning documents, as well as answers to questions about Impact Beloit’s design, for the Executive Director. They will also assist the Program and Marketing Coordinator in finding creative ways to gather information about experiential learning, Beloit College learning goals, and other topics that help to bring to light what Beloit College does for the community.
  • Productive Collaboration: The Project Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Executive Director, the Program and Marketing Coordinator, and the Core Team of Impact Beloit in order to plan and design organizational and administrative documents. They will work alongside professional staff, paraprofessional staff, and students, while also coordinating with the leaders of Channels, Career Works, the Center for Entrepreneurship in Liberal Education at Beloit (CELEB), Development and Alumni Relations and Student Engagement, and Leadership, as needed.
  • Intellectually & Professionally Agile: Through this position, the Project Coordinator will learn how to professionally communicate with a variety of audiences, take initiative on projects, and be given the support to work independently, as well as enhance their organizational and data analytics skills. Additionally, the Project Coordinator will learn how to multitask, often handling and completing multiple unique projects simultaneously, and in a timely manner.

Specific Details

A student in this position can expect to work flexible hours per day, at least 5 hours and up to 15 hours per week based on availabilityu.
