Program and Marketing Coordinator

The Program and Marketing Coordinator is a critical role in launching Impact Beloit, the college’s most strategic initiative that will combine career-readiness and community outreach and development. The mission of Impact Beloit is “To develop the next generation of leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, thinkers, and activists through community-based learning that both develops students’ career-readiness and contributes to the well-being of our local communities, especially the city of Beloit.” The Program and Marketing Coordinator will work directly with the Executive Director, Tim Leslie, to develop and launch new programing and market it on campus and in the community. The skills that you will develop as part of this role are:

 

  • Effective Communication: The Program and Marketing Coordinator will communicate frequently with the Executive Director and the Project Coordinator of Impact Beloit to develop, manage, and market Impact Beloit’s programs. This work consists of reaching out to, and working with, faculty, students, alumni, and community partners, recording their feedback on Impact Beloit’s programs, writing stories for Impact Beloit’s website, and completing related tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Creative Problem Solving: The Program and Marketing Coordinator will assist in the management and marketing of Impact Beloit events and projects. They will also be responsible for finding creative ways to gather and publish stories about experiential learning, Beloit College learning goals, and other topics as assigned by the Executive Director, in order to advertise and spread awareness of Impact Beloit’s student and community programs.
  • Productive Collaboration: The Program and Marketing Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Executive Director, the Project Coordinator, and the core team of Impact Beloit in order to manage and market their programs. They will work alongside professional staff, paraprofessional staff, and students, while also coordinating with the leaders of Channels, Career Works, the Center for Entrepreneurship in Liberal Education at Beloit (CELEB), Development and Alumni Relations and Student Engagement, and Leadership, as needed.
  • Intellectual & Professional Agility: Through this position, the Program and Marketing Coordinator will learn how to professionally communicate with a variety of audiences, take initiative on projects, and be given the support to work independently, as well as enhance their communication and marketing skills. Additionally, the Program and Marketing Coordinator will learn how to multitask, often handling and completing multiple unique projects simultaneously, and in a timely manner.

Specific Details

A student in this position can expect to work flexible hours per day, at least 5 and up to 15 hours per week based on availability.
