- Class of 2000
Mary Leach ’00 moved to NYC shortly after graduating with a dual degree in Theatre (Design and Stage Management) and in Classical Civilizations. She has worked continuously as a production stage manager, and earned her Actors Equity Card in 2003, Production Managing, and as a Stagehand. Leach has been working as the production manager for a large Union scene shop for a number of years. Currently, she is a proud member of AEA and IATSE Local 4 (Brooklyn & Queens). In IA Local 4, Leach serves on the Education Committee and is the head of the Local 4 Women’s Committee. She is also the Local 4 representative on several IATSE committees. Leach has worked as crew chief on several high profile events, and serves as the Production Manager at the Sylvia and Danny Kaye Playhouse.
Leach claims, “Beloit College was instrumental in shaping my career through the close working relationship I had with my fellow students and professors. The hands on technical training due to size and nature of the program allowed me jump in and start working soon after graduating. Having worked in the scene shop as my work study job set me up to work professionally in shops that build Broadway, TV, and special events. I found the program invaluable to my career.”
