  bergenstockmj@beloit.edu   608-363-2685   Neese Theatre, 12-C

Bergenstock loved her “big state school” experience but is thrilled to be teaching every day in the liberal arts environment. Bergenstock has also trained with Anne Bogart and the SITI Company and at the Kennedy Center Directing Intensive. She is passionate about social justice and its intersection with theatre.  She loves working with playwrights and developing new work. One of her favorite pieces took place half in a video game world and half in the real world, while another took place entirely at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. She loves bringing new worlds to the stage! Her favorite performance credit is when she was in the opera Carmen in Rome, Italy. She is also a certified combatant in both knife and unarmed stage combat.

Bergenstock loves working with students on special projects putting directorial theory into practice. She always has candy in her office and enjoys stopping by the costume shop and scene shops to learn new things.  Marina hosts Manatee Week each year and, in addition to having been in the musical Cats, she loves her tortie, Stella.
