[SPAN 100] Elementary Spanish I
Based on a communicative approach, this course provides a solid foundation of listening comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Students have daily assignments intended to help them communicate orally and in written form about themselves, friends, and family as well as customs and practices in the Spanish-speaking world in the present, past, and future tenses. Participation in Spanish-language activities outside of the classroom and/or in the local Latino community is expected.
Open only to students with no previous knowledge of Spanish. Students who have previously studied Spanish must take an online placement exam for placement in a course. If you have questions about the exam or your placement, contact: Prof. Sylvia López (firstname.lastname@example.org).
