Building Assistants will assist the Office of Residential Life and Housing with day-to-day tasks in and around the residence halls.
Weekly tasks include, but are not limited to:
Move furniture between buildings and from floor-to-floor.
Build and set-up shelves in the Whitney Basement.
Move all craft materials from the old RA Classroom (Haven Basement) into the new RA Classroom (1st floor, Whitney Hall, old ResLife space).
Collect leftover items from hallways and rooms; organize items to donate to Goodwill.
Find and recycle all old tube TVs from the residence halls.
Inventory halls that have newer TVs on each floor and those that do not.
Inventory the condition of room and common area furniture.
Set-up new lounge spaces under direction of Res Life Pro-Staff.
Clean out old basement areas within the residence halls.
Organize and clean Peet and Porter storage areas.
Pack-up belongings in student rooms and bring packed boxes of items to the Mail Center.
Routinely provide updates to Pro-Staff on the status of assigned tasks and projects.
Answer Office phones in a professional and friendly manner; direct caller’s questions to the appropriate pro-staff member.
Add/remove access to student ID cards.
Retrieve Office mail from the Mail Center.
Prep room key packets and assist students in completing check-out forms
