Blaine Young

Blaine attended Northern Illinois University where he earned his Bachelor of Music in Theory and Composition and Master of Music in Jazz Saxophone Performance. Blaine is conversant in both classical and jazz styles of performance and pedagogy of the saxophone. He performs regularly as a member of the Rockford Wind Ensemble and Stateline Jazz Orchestra.
Blaine is also a technologist and interested in the intersections of music and technology. His undergraduate work in music composition focused on computer and electronic music. He has been an expert user Apple Logic Pro for over 25 years, having provided direct technical support to legendary jazz musicians, Chick Corea and Branford Marsalis. Blaine is an experienced sound designer and audio engineer. He has contributed to the success of several children’s educational toy companies with his original music composition and sound design.
Blaine maintains a private music lesson studio and project recording studio in his home in Rockford, Illinois.
