Topics in History: Creating Digital Exhibits

Students in this class learn basic skills for creating “virtual exhibits” of materials from the College Archives. Working individually and in groups, students will identify a research topic based on materials in the Archives and Special Collections, explore appropriate primary materials, and locate sources that contextualize those materials. Following initial training in Omeka software, which is designed for beginning designers of museum and library exhibits, students will design and curate themed exhibits on topics relevant to Beloit College history.
