Academic Specialties and Other Interests
I am a professor in the Department of Geology. I’m a paleoclimatologist and paleontologist by training, and study climate change driven extinctions in Earth’s past to better understand future climate scenarios.
One of my favorite things about Beloit is the variety of opportunities available to get to know the students. This happens not only in the classroom, but also on geology field trips that we take to places all over the country. I especially enjoy undertaking one-on-one and group research projects with students in both the field and my lab. When I need to relax and recharge I go for hikes, head to the gym or yoga studio, and make pizza from scratch.
