Director of Enrollment Strategy
Beloit College, known for its innovative and student-centered approach to education, seeks a Director of Enrollment Strategy.
The Director advances successful achievement of enrollment goals for first-year and transfer students through sustained attention to the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include obtaining, analyzing, and utilizing relevant primary and secondary data to inform planning, decision making, and effective recruitment, admission, and yield efforts; serving as a key point of contact for external and internal partners to ensure that efforts in market development, pricing, predictive modeling, enrollment communications, and digital marketing are aligned and mutually reinforcing; collaborating with colleagues in Admission and in Communications and Marketing to evaluate, refine, and evolve a comprehensive and effective marketing plan for student recruitment and enrollment; compiling and interpreting data to inform decisions about predictive modeling and financial aid leveraging; serving as a partner in thought and action to the Vice President for Enrollment and office leadership; and contributing to an ethically grounded, collaboration inclined, data informed, relationally driven, and results-oriented work culture.
The ideal candidate will be strategically oriented; fueled by curiosity; able to balance short-term and long-term interests and goals; combine a well-developed understanding of enrollment assumptions and admission tactics with the instinct to question them; and excel at asking unexpected questions (especially of their supervisor!). Both ideater and implementer, the successful candidate will bring a background in qualitative and/or quantitative analysis; deep experience using data in planning and evaluation; and an orientation toward operational efficiency and the effective use of resources. Also necessary are well-developed communications skills, including listening, and interpretation; strong organizational ability; an instinct for collaboration; an imaginative approach to problem solving; a sophisticated and nuanced understanding of diversity, along with insight into the advantages and barriers faced by students from different backgrounds; and a deep commitment to the liberal arts and sciences. The ability to plan and to pivot, the inclination to approach work from a posture of possibility, and the ability to embrace change and ambiguity with a sense of humor will also serve a candidate well.
A graduate degree and a background in quantitative and/or qualitative analysis are required. Experience with Technolutions Slate is a distinct plus.
