Jane Quisenberry and W. Willard Wirtz Public Service Prize


The prize is awarded to a student who distinguishes him or herself by high ideals, excellence, and exemplary service to the Beloit community. Established in 1986 by their sons to honor their parents’ distinguished careers in public service, Jane, class of 1935 and college trustee, held prominent positions in organizations promoting humanitarian causes, including the President’s Committee on Employment of the Handicapped and Goodwill Industries of America. Willard, class of 1933, pursued a career in law and labor relations, and served as Undersecretary and Secretary of Labor under Presidents Kennedy and Johnson.
