Admissions Counselor/Assistant Director and Associate Director of Admissions
Join a talented team at an exciting moment for a nationally ranked liberal arts college. Beloit College invites applications for multiple openings with start dates between now and July 1. Responsibilities include developing and implementing an outreach and recruitment strategy tailored to specific geographic areas and populations, representing Beloit College to a variety of constituencies, guiding students through the application process, reviewing applications, assisting with and leading events and special initiatives, and working closely with college staff and faculty. Assistant and associate directors will take on leadership of department-wide initiatives, possibilities for which include, but are not limited to, tour guide programs, alumni volunteers, writing admission communications, and professional development.
Successful candidates will be energized by interacting with a wide variety of people; love diving into hard work with great colleagues; demonstrate ample independent initiative and delight in being part of a team; be creative, organized, open-minded, drama averse, and collaboration inclined; possess ethical ambition and outstanding communication skills; and excel at getting things done. A love of learning and the ability to embrace change and ambiguity with grace and humor are distinct plusses.
Candidates must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and be willing to travel up to eight weeks in both the fall and the spring. We seek individuals who complement and strengthen our team and will consider candidates at the Counselor, Assistant Director, or Associate Director levels. Previous experience in college admission is required for the assistant and associate director positions; candidates with less than two years of experience will be considered for the admissions counselor level.A bachelor’s degree and driver’s license are required. Demonstrated success in recruiting and an understanding of a liberal arts environment are desired.
