Rachel couldn’t be more pleased with her experience at Beloit and in the dance program. During her time there, Rachel had the opportunity to dance in original works by Chris Johnson, Margaret Rennerfeldt, Aiko Kinoshita, Kirby Reed and Gabriel Masson as well as to debut a variety of her own choreographic works, one of which was selected to be adjudicated at ACDA.
Rachel recently completed an MFA in Dance, focusing on Somatics and Dance Wellness, as an Arts and Sciences Fellow at CU-Boulder. Rachel has danced professionally with Chicago based company, ecnDanceworks (now The Moving Architects), San Francisco based companies Double Vision, Dance Theatre/Shannon and Presidio Dance Theatre; and West Virginia Dance Company, among others. Rachel’s choreographic work has been presented in many settings, including being commissioned by Longmont Dance Theatre and Bare Bait Dance Company, selected for performance at Performática in San Andrés Cholula, Puebla, México, and presented at Between the Bones Studio Collective, the ATLAS Institute, WaxWorks at Triskelion Arts, and the Philly Live Arts & Fringe.
Now based in NYC, Rachel is currently an adjunct instructor for the Continuing Education department at CU-Boulder, while working with Tough Cookie Dance, Avodah Dance, choreographing for Democracy Prep’s spring musical, and producing her own work. She is an interdisciplinary choreographer who often explores autobiographical stories, teasing out facets of each experience to shape a persona based on biography.
