Liz Freeman

Liz K. Freeman graduated from Beloit College in 2012 with a BA in Dance. She received her MA in Dance/ Movement Therapy and Counseling from Antioch University of New England in May of 2017.
Liz is currently working at the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE), an integrative treatment program for service members with traumatic brain injury and psychological distress at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. At the NICoE she is providing Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT) treatment to active duty service members, focusing on enhancement of mind-body skills to increase nervous system regulation and emotional well-being. Her previous clinical work has been with adolescents experiencing emotional disturbance due to a history of trauma in both residential and outpatient settings.
Liz is interested in continuing to work with service members as a DMT, and hopes to engage in research in the future that utilizes this type of treatment as an intervention for healing trauma.
