Box Office Clerk / Front of House
Box Office Clerk
Sell tickets for the Theatre by phone, mail, and patrons that come to the box office, take payments of cash, credit card, and checks. Must be able to work well with the public. (The box office has an independent software program for selling tickets). Has worked retail, cashiering, and or theatre at high school, etc.
Office hours are 12:30-5pm weekdays. Must be able to work evening hours when college has shows. Most shows begin 6:30pm and last up to 10:30pm. Will need to work on Saturday nights beginning of fall and spring breaks. Occasionally we have matinees on Sundays that begin at 1pm. Must be willing to advertise; hang posters on and off campus for upcoming plays.
Past employment experience; previous retail, cashiering, and/or theatre work. Use a pc, will need to learn a ticketing software program. Be proficient in counting monies. Must be able to work evenings when the college has shows. Work well with the public. Makes no difference what the major is. Some dates fall on the fall and spring breaks. Must be willing to advertise, hang posters on and off campus for upcoming plays.
Front of House
On show nights: hand out programs, take tickets, usher patrons to seats, and setup and close down theatres, including opening & closing the doors on start of shows, intermissions, and end, guiding patrons back in and out of theaters, and picking up programs off seats at end of shows. Front of House employees must be able to also work as Box Office Clerks.
Past employment experience; previous retail, cashiering, and/or theatre work. Must be able to attend every performance throughout the year. Some dates fall on the fall and spring breaks. They still must attend shows. Must attend dress rehearsal shows. Be willing to hang posters for upcoming plays on and off campus.
Must be able to work evening hours when college has shows.
