[SPAN 230] Coffee and Current Events


In this course, over coffee, students discuss current events in the Spanish-speaking world and examine them in light of historical, political, cultural, and/or social developments. By reading, analyzing, discussing, and writing in Spanish on a wide variety of non-literary topics, students are expected to expand their vocabulary, hone their linguistic skills, and deepen their understanding of Hispanic cultures.Participation in Spanish-language activities outside the classroom and/or in the local Latino community is expected.
