Sexuality and Gender Alliance (SAGA)
Purpose
To educate and support issues of gender and sexuality for all members of the Beloit College community:
- By providing information and education for Beloit College and the surrounding community
- By providing support and referral, particularly for queer students
- By providing support to other marginalized groups and activist groups on campus and in the community
- By engaging in political activism and social reform, particularly for queer causes; by engaging in at least two activism events, at least one on and one off campus, per semester
- By existing as a social organization for the queer community
- By maintaining 818 Church St, the SAGA house, as a safe space for those of any sexuality, gender identity, and allies of all orientations and expressions
Membership Requirements
Members must fulfill one of the following:
- Be enrolled as a student at Beloit College. This is in accordance with the Student Handbook
- Be currently employed by Beloit College as faculty, staff, or administration
No individual shall be denied membership to SAGA on the basis of sex, race, color, ethnicity, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or physical or mental disabilities, as in the anti-discrimination policy for Beloit College. Members must attend at least one meeting.
