Sexual Health and Reproductive Choice Coalition (SHARCC)

Purpose

SHARCC exists to educate the college community about reproductive health and rights, to translate increased awareness into pro-choice activism on campus, and to serve as a coalition partner to state, national, and international reproductive rights efforts. SHARCC believes in the fundamental right of every individual to manage his or her fertility. SHARCC supports full access to comprehensive reproductive and complementary health care services in settings that preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of each individual; advocates public policies that guarantee these rights and ensure access to such services; and supports access to medically accurate educational programs that enhance understanding of human sexuality.

Membership Requirements

SHARCC is open to all Beloit College students interested in the promotion of reproductive health freedom. SHARCC encourages diversity among its membership and does not discriminate on the basis of sex, income, marital status, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, national origin, religion, gender identity, or disability. Any Beloit College student that is a member of SHARCC will be given voting privileges. Although off-campus organizations and clubs may become involved with SHARCC and be represented at meetings, they will not have voting privileges.
