Lisa Anderson-Levy

Lisa Anderson-Levy encourages students to apply theoretical frameworks they learn in her classes to their lives and social worlds beyond the campus.

As an anthropologist, Lisa is concerned with the difference difference makes in the world and is invested in providing students with tools to understand their worlds. Thus she encourages students to apply theoretical frameworks they learn in her classes to their lives and social worlds beyond the campus. Students learn that who they are matters in the world, that the histories of identities matter in contemporary contexts, and how they both benefit from and are harmed by structural relationships of power.
