Songs: Collected, Composed, Shared by Robert J. Learner'58 Bob Learner’s song collecting and songwriting began when he bought a guitar in Mexico City in the late 1950s. This collection of 11 traditional songs ranges from traditional folk songs like “The Brazos River” to a contemporary protest song inspired by the 2010 Enbridge oil spill in the Kalamazoo River. The songs include the music notation and lyrics, as well as illustrations by Learner’s wife, Joanna.
