Media studies majors explore 2023 TV Academy Career Day in Chicago

Students met with industry professionals who shared their experiences, insights, and advice in getting into the broadcast industry.

Media Studies students from Beloit College attended the 2023 TV Academy Career Day, presented by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), the organization behind the Emmy Awards, at Columbia College Chicago on Saturday, April 8, 2023.

Students Jacob Gaston, Logan Eischeid, Ojaswi Dhakal, and Ella Diers took part in the media studies event ... The NATAS provided an excellent opportunity for the Media Studies majors to hear from leaders in the communications field about the background needed for a job in the broadcast industry. Representatives from major networks, both on-air and behind the camera, were at the event.

The event focused on career outcomes and strategies students could take to begin a career in the field of broadcasting, with industry professionals sharing their experiences, insights, and advice. After the initial presentation, the panelists answered questions from the audience, providing valuable guidance on how to break into the broadcast industry.
