Dr. Wayne Au, a scholar on social justice in K-12 education policy, is this year’s Weissberg Chair in Human Rights and Social Justice.
He will be engaging this year’s theme of intersectionality as it pertains to the timely topic of policies, curricula, and equity in U.S. public schools.

Dr. Wayne Au is professor and interim dean in the School of Educational Studies at University of Washington Bothell. Au has previously served as the interim dean of diversity and equity for the campus and is an editorial board member of Rethinking Schools. His academic interests broadly encompass critical education theory and teaching for social justice. His research focuses on educational equity, high-stakes testing, curriculum theory, educational policy studies and social studies education.
