1998 Distinguished Service Citation

Linda Treat Hisgen, former Beloit Trustee, Beloit parent, and a life-long advocate for the youth and families of Wisconsin. As Bureau Director of the Division of Children and Family Services of the Wisconsin Department of Health and Human Services, you have drawn on your early experience as a social worker. You have devoted your professional career to improving circumstances for the youth of Wisconsin through energetic and innovative contributions to programs for foster care, day care, child welfare, child abuse and neglect, and adolescent pregnancy prevention. You have been a guiding light in enhancing services across the nation through your service on the executive committee of the National Association of Public Child Welfare Administrators. In addition, you have volunteered your time and boundless energy as president of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Dane County and as a director of United Cerebral Palsy of Dane County. Your contributions to your community have extended to your alma mater where you have served as Trustee, class officer, and member of the President’s Regional Advisory Council.

Beloit College is proud to recognize your efforts with the conferral of the 1998 Alumni Association Distinguished Service Citation during the celebration of your 35th reunion.
