James Leslie Kuplic’1934 DSC

You continued your interest in athletics after graduation as a high school coach and in business.

1964 Distinguished Service Citation

Executive, Industrialist, Sportsman

The qualities of leadership which have brought you to the presidency of Kohler Company, one of the country’s foremost in its field, were in evidence more than thirty years ago when you were not only an active participant in three sports at Beloit, but named a captain of two of them. You continued your interest in athletics after graduation as a high school coach and in business. Since your first employment with the Kohler Company during World War II days, you displayed the initiative and executive ability which took you to the top levels of management and now to the honor of being the first person outside the Kohler family to head the firm which is well-known around the world. Your many connections with Beloit College through your own family make it particularly appropriate that the College recognize you today, as you join classmates of thirty years ago, with this Distinguished Service Citation.
