Your undergraduate experiences in radio, dramatics and newspaper work helped prepare you for a productive career in the communications industry. You have introduced new techniques to the broadcast media and set high standards of excellence, consistency and creativity in searching out community problems and producing the programming to help solve them. You bring eleven years of experience as a television producer, writer and director with NBC affiliates in Philadelphia, Cleveland and Washington to your present position as owner of Creative Communication Services and as adjunct professor of communication at American University. You have earned many honors, including prizes from the New York and San Francisco international film festivals, the Freedoms Foundation and the American Political Science Association; several local “Emmys”; the DuPont-Columbia University Journalism Citation; numerous “Golden Mikes,” and six Broadcast Media awards. It is with special pride that Beloit College recognizes your professional accomplishments in public affairs interpretation by presenting you this Citation today.
