The 2022 Beloit College Women's Soccer Team is in the MWC Tournament Championship on Sunday at 1 p.m.For the second year in a row, Beloit College’s women’s soccer team is headed to the Midwest Conference Tournament Championship Game.

The defending tournament champs earned the right to play for an automatic berth into this year’s NCAA Division-III Tournament thanks to the game’s only goal, which came with just three and a half minutes left in regulation from Megan Thompson, with the assist credited to Alayna Furch. That marks Thompson’s third goal of the season, which is tied for second on the team. Beloit also held a 13-11 shot advantage, with 10 of their 13 shots coming on goal.

Audrey Ketterer continued her outstanding season as Beloit’s Goal Keeper, recording her sixth complete game shutout of the season, while making seven saves. That gives the Buccaneers 10 shutouts in their 15 games this season, which ties a single game school record. Grinnell Goal Keeper Maggie Kersting saved nine shots, while also playing all 90 minutes.

The win propels Beloit into the MWC Tournament Championship Game Sunday at 1 p.m. in Grinnell, Iowa, where the Buccaneers will battle the host school and MWC regular season champion Grinnell College. A win Sunday would give Beloit their second consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
