Sports broadcasting experts to visit Beloit

The city of Beloit’s visitor’s center will present the Visit Beloit Broadcasting Symposium and Dream Job Competition from Jan. 7-9, 2022, in the Powerhouse.

The college will host the event, which features two prominent alumni on a panel of 15 national sports broadcasters set to offer professional advice and networking opportunities to aspiring broadcasters.

Professional participants include Joe Davis’10, play-by-play broadcast announcer for the L.A. Dodgers, who also announces college football and basketball and Major League Baseball for FOX Sports and the NFL network.

Chicago Bulls insider K.C. Johnson’89 also joins the roster of experts. A veteran sports journalist, he spent nearly two decades at the Chicago Tribune covering the Bulls and other major sports events, including two Olympic Games. Johnson now brings his extensive knowledge of the Bulls to NBC Sports Chicago.

Symposium attendees can take part in a dream job competition to become the next full-time, paid announcer for the Beloit Snappers minor league baseball team.
